We are seeking a talented and motivated Renewable Energy Transactional Associate to join our team and contribute to our growing renewable energy practice.

Job Summary: The Renewable Energy Transactional Associate will play a key role in supporting clients in the renewable energy industry by handling a wide range of transactional matters. This position involves working closely with senior attorneys and clients on project development, financing, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transactional law, excellent legal skills, and a passion for renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transactional Support:
    • Assist with the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of various transactional documents, including power purchase agreements, construction contracts, and financing agreements.
    • Support senior attorneys in complex transactions, including project financings, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures.
    • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on issues related to renewable energy transactions.
  2. Project Development:
    • Advise clients on legal aspects of project development, including site acquisition, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
    • Work closely with clients to ensure successful project development and execution.
  3. Due Diligence:
    • Conduct due diligence for renewable energy transactions, including reviewing contracts, permits, and other project-related documents.
    • Identify and assess potential legal risks and provide recommendations for mitigating those risks.
  4. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting renewable energy projects.
    • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and energy policies.
  5. Client Interaction:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional legal service and support.
    • Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and strategy sessions.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm, including finance, environmental, and corporate teams, to provide comprehensive legal support to clients.
    • Contribute to the development of best practices and knowledge sharing within the renewable energy practice group.
